AT&T PHONE
ACCESSORIES

Merchandising  |  2016

AT&T’s small enterprise catalog was a separate site from its consumer site. In this role, I managed weekly product launches for vendors by copyediting, organizing creative, and inputting data for the products they were releasing.

During Apple’s iPhone launches, 1000s of accessories would be prepared along with the phone’s release.

Using Oracle’s ATG catalog software, I managed massive amounts of data being loaded into the website, copyedit product descriptions, create recommendations (e.g. iPhone 8 cases for iPhones 8), standardized images, and executed a data migration into the new catalog, which featured much-needed ‘color chips’.

PRODUCT DETAILS PAGE

This is the standard products detail page layout for the accessories catalog. On the backend, I managed all the copy, images, pricelists, and hex codes that were being loaded into the catalog.

The color chips on the right column were not a feature prior to the migration I planned. Users previously navigated to each page for an available color for the same product. On the backend, this meant I needed to restructure all our data so that these different colored cases weren't their own product pages. I automated some of the restructuring by manipulating data in Excel formulas for basic color names (e.g. red, black, blue, etc.), and for patterns or outstanding colors, they were done manually.

CATALOG OVERVIEW

The accessories catalog was the largest product group at AT&T's online enterprise store, which contained 10,000s of products. It had a wide-range of products from phone cases, charging cables, screen protectors, wearables, to cases for wearables.

I oversaw this product group which meant I had to do everything from product launches, discounts/promotions, and end-of-life thoughtfully in bulk. Every process needed to be done on a large scale, reduce the chance of human error, and impact products precisely the way that it was intended.
